A One-Day Seminar for Post-Primary schools with Professor Bill Rogers, Ph.D (formerly, Griffith University, Queensland, Australia)
Post-Primary Principals and members of the school's special education team are invited to attend this one-day seminar which will focus on developing a whole-school approach to managing behaviour as well as working with students with behaviour disorders.
The seminar is being facilitated by Professor Bill Rogers, internationally renowned educational consultant.
Professor Rogers, a teacher by profession, lectures widely on discipline and behaviour management issues; classroom management; stress and teaching; colleague support; developing peer support programmes for teachers and developing community-oriented policies for behaviour management, based on whole-school approaches.
The seminar will address areas such as:
Places will be allocated on an initial basis of two per school (Principal and member of the Special Education team) on a ‘first- come first-served’ basis.
Participants will require permission from the Board of Management to attend. Typically substitution for participating teachers for this seminar will only be allowed by the Teacher Education Section, DES, to classroom teachers or subject teachers only who have primary responsibility for student(s) with a special educational need and if it is deemed absolutely essential by the principal.
