This seminar is designed to provide an outline of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs (SEN) in their transition from primary to post-primary school and to present suggestions and strategies that can be applied by schools in order to facilitate that transition.
Anticipated Outcomes
Participants will:
- Examine legislation, policy and indicators of good practice relevant to transition
- Explore the difficulties and challenges experienced by students with special educational needs during the transition process
- Consider activities and strategies which may ease transitional difficulties
- Investigate reading, resources and materials to assist in managing the transition process
